What are the compatible materials with Polysher™?
Polysher™ is compatible only with the Polysmooth filament family and with Polycast. Those materials are slightly soluble with classic isopropyl alcohol. We recommend using a blend of at least 90° alcohol for smoothing parts with the Polysher. Please, DO NOT try to use ABS and acetone in the Polysher™, as the acetone will melt the plastics of the Polysher™. The advantage of the Polysmooth and Isopropyl alcohol combo is that the chemical reaction is slower compared to ABS/Acetone, giving you more control over the final look and the smoothing degree that you want your part to have.
Is it easy to print with Polysmooth filaments?
Absolutely! Polysmooth prints almost like PLA. No warping, nor enclosure is needed.
How long does it take to smooth a part with the Polysher™?
From 20 to 40min depending on the quality of the raw print.
What is the biggest part that will fit into the Polysher™?
Maximum Part Size: (Diameter*Height): 150mm x 180mm
Other information
The Polysher™ uses Polymaker’s Layer-Free™ technology to create a fine mist of alcohol which evenly smooths the model. Layer-Free™ technology involves exposing a 3D printed part to an aerosol of micro-sized alcohol droplets, generated by a rapidly vibrating, perforated membrane called the nebulizer. The aerosol will then be adsorbed by the surface of the 3D printed part and render it smooth and layer-free. Isopropyl alcohol isn't included in the product.
